Dr Nitin Leekha

An oncosurgeon practicing in Delhi & NCR, Dr Leekha is dedicated to the profession and works passionately for the well being of his patients. He is a Graduate (MBBS) from University College of medical sciences & Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital and has done Post Graduation (MS, Surgery) from Maulana Azad Medical college. He further underwent Superspecialization (Mch, Surgical Oncology) from Regional cancer centre, Trivandrum.

He has also received training at Tata memorial hospital, Mumbai, All India institute of medical sciences, Delhi and Prince of Wales Hospital, Shatin Hongkong.

Surgical Training

Dr Nitin Leekha is a post graduate from Maulana Azad medical college and has done Senior residency from the same institute. He also did senior residency in Trauma from Shushurutu Trauma centre. During his residency he performed various laparoscopic surgeries like Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, Laparoscopic Hernia Repairs, Laparoscopic Fundoplications etc. He also underwent various training courses in Minimal access surgery. His research topic was comparison of Laparoscopic Nissen versus Laparoscopic Toupet fundoplications. He was also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate training activities.

Surgical Oncology

During Residency Dr Nitin Leekha developed interest in management of cancer patients and decided to undergo further specialization in Surgical oncology. Further M.ch in Surgical Oncology was done from the prestigious Regional cancer Centre In Thiruvananthapuram from 2011 to 2014. He was trained not only in Surgical oncology but also received training in various aspects of cancer care like Medical oncology, palliative oncology etc. He also attended observership in Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and All India Institute of medical sciences, Delhi.

Minimal Access Surgical Oncology

After having received formal training in both Minimal access surgery and Surgical Oncology, Dr Nitin Leekha now specializes is Minimal access surgical oncology and routinely performs complex cancer surgeries with Minimal Access Technique. He has received Fellowships from European school of Surgical oncology and is a life time Fellow of Association of Surgeons (FAIS) of India and Fellow of Minimal access surgeons of India (FMAS). The advantages of Minimal access surgery is lesser pain and faster recovery.

Various cancer Surgical operations like Thyroid, Parathyroid, Esophagus, Stomach, Lung, Colorectal and Gynecological cancers can be done Minimal access technique (Endoscopic/Laparoscopic/ Thoracoscopic).
